This is a big year for me because I am becoming a high school teacher! It feels like a big pivot and I’m filled with energy about it.

When I started this quilt in January, I wanted to upcycle a small kite that we had purchased many years ago, but never flew well. It sat in a drawer. I decided this was the year for it to be reborn since 2024 is Year of the Dragon in the Chinese horoscope.

I love how the dragon is filled with energy! It’s taking off! A great reminder of the changes ahead for me.
