My mom bought a basket crocheted from a bedsheet and was intent to learn the method. Her friend Juliene was experienced at crochet and they got the pattern. Juliene taught us how to make the baskets. We also found this Youtube video was helpful:

In the end, I did not like my basket because I found it looked too clunky when the strips were 2-3 inches wide, but I liked mom and Juliene’s baskets that were made with thinner strips. Also, the thinner strips were easier to crochet I think. I might try again some time with thinner strips.
