This video tells the story of how my family built an igloo for a Maker Faire in 2019 from about 400 plastic milk jugs. We got the jugs from our local Starbucks stores. Most people who have done this before achieved the structure by using a lot of hot glue. We wanted to make a design that we could build, take apart, and put up again in another location, so hot glue was not an option. That’s why we designed our igloo with zip ties. It gets its structure from three garment racks inside. The total cost of this project was about $20 for zip ties because we already owned the garment racks and the soldering iron. Thank you to the many people who made this project successful – especially the Scouts and adult volunteers from Troop 1577, the Maker Faire organizers and the employees at our local Starbucks store.
