A Trashmagination artist who I have admired for years is Michelle Stitzlein. Recently, we visited Columbus Ohio, and I saw a whole bunch of giant butterfly / moth sculptures by Michelle at the science museum. I did not know her work was going to be there, and I was SO excited.
When I got home, I visited her website again, and that’s when I had a palm to forehead moment. Michelle lives just outside of Columbus and I could have visited her studio!! I mean, really, I have to plan better!
Anyhow, it was still thrilling to see her work in-person at the museum. I love how the antennae on this moth are made from open blue caps, like the kind from a shampoo bottle with a flip top?

I have requested her books for Christmas gifts. You can learn more about Michelle Stitzlein at her website, Art Grange.
