For the holidays, I made taiko ornaments for my taiko performance group, Nen Daiko.
It took many hours of sewing all those little beads on, but it was a fun activity during our recent trip to Canada, when we were stuck on the planes and in airports. You can see how I made the taiko ornaments from applesauce containers in this previous blog. I figured out these are Mott’s applesauce containers, with the wood grain on them.

I gave them the ornaments tonight after practice.

I kept one for myself and sewed the year 2015 on it. We usually have one ornament per year with the year painted or sewn on.
